The Chrome browser on my computer is version 123.x, and I’m preparing to install the latest version (125.x). Since I can’t upgrade online, I need to re-download the Chrome installation package from the official Chrome website.
When I opened the official Chrome website using Edge browser, a small prompt appeared in the top-right corner of the browser, as shown in the image below. I closed the prompt and continued downloading.
After clicking “Download”, a Microsoft Edge browser advertisement popped up at the top of the page, as shown in the image below.
It seems like Edge is encouraging users to stick with Edge.
I have three web browsers on my computer, so I tried using Firefox browser, and there were no prompts at all.
